“Wild Week 2008!”
Nature Day Camp

During WILD! Weeks children aged 7-12 will have the chance to experience the outdoors firsthand.  A holistic approach including science, art and writing will guide campers through a variety of engaging, inquiry-driven experiences.  Camp is limited to 25 children.

When:June 16 - 20, 2007 or June 23 - 27, 2008        9:00am-12:00 pm each day.
Park in the parking lot and walk up the service road to register in the classroom.  Campers should arrive no earlier than 8:45a.m.and should be picked up no later than 12:15p.m.

Cost: The cost for WILD! Week is $85 per child for the week. Limited partial camp scholarships are available.

What to Wear:This camp will be partially outdoors in Texas in June, so children should wear comfortable clothes and shoes (closed toe – no sandals/thongs).  Children should also wear a hat and sunscreen and consider using insect repellant.  Some years chiggers are a problem.  Camp staff cannot be responsible for lost or damaged backpacks, water bottles, or other personal equipment.

What to Bring: Each day each child should bring a light snack, water bottle, and a backpack. 

About Friedrich Park: Wild! Weeks will be held in Friedrich Wilderness Park.  The park is located in the Balcones Canyonlands/Hill Country Region of juniper and live oak clad hills.  It has 5 miles of hiking trails, restrooms and a classroom to facilitate programming when the weather is inclement. 

How to Register

Call 210-560-6400 to request a registration packet or download forms from www.sanaturalareas.org/wildweek08.html.  Complete the registration and medical/release form for each child.  Send the form along with the $85 per child fee in a check or money order made payable to Friends of Friedrich Wilderness Park to:

Registration is on first come, first served basis and is complete when the forms and fee are received.  This will be confirmed by letter.  WE CANNOT ACCEPT REGISTRATION BY PHONE, FAX, OR EMAIL.  Due to limited space, once camp is filled, we will start a waiting list.
