How To Find Us! Medina River Natural Area is located about 15 miles from downtown San Antonio on State Hwy 16 south. Take Interstate 10 West toward El Paso for 1.9 miles. Merge onto Interstate 35 South from exit 572 toward Laredo. Continue about 5 miles to Spur 422 and exit 139 toward El Paso. Merge onto Tx 422 Spur south for 1.2 miles until it becomes Highway 16 south. Continue another 4.2 miles. Just before the Medina River bridge, turn left into Medina River Natural Area. The San Antonio Natural Area Parks headquarters is located at Friedrich Park. You can contact staff at (210) 564-6400, Monday through Friday except holidays, from 7:30 am until 4 pm.
